St. Teresa’s Society

Serving humanity and supporting parish life with faith and dedication.

About the Group

Inspired by the little way of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the members of St. Teresa’s Society pursue simple and humble ways to achieve holiness. They collaborate to support mission projects and charitable causes in Africa and within the Church community.

They support the upkeep and care of priests, strengthen evangelisation outreach, and take part in social and recreational activities that encourage holistic growth in Christian virtues.

New Executive Committee Installed

St. Teresa’s Society is a lay apostolic group within the Catholic Church. Founded in Ghana, it has grown across several continents, bringing the mission and spirituality of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus into parish life and the wider community.

In June 2026, the Amsterdam branch of St. Teresa’s Society installed a new executive committee. A delegation of leaders travelled from the United Kingdom and Germany for the ceremony at All Saints Catholic Church (Afrika Huis).

The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, led by Opanin Rosemary Kobi. Parish priest Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Andoh offered the opening prayer. Opanin Vivian Bobie welcomed the members and invited guests, while outgoing president Opanin Ernestina Fordjour introduced the special guests of honour.

Onua Marian Owusu proclaimed the Bible reading. Fr. Emmanuel then encouraged the new leadership to remain faithful to the spirituality of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, whose life teaches the Christian virtues of humility, love and simplicity as a path to holiness. He also blessed the badges to be worn by the newly elected officers.

Opanin Victoria, diocesan president in the United Kingdom, led the installation rites with the support of other presidents present. Former and visiting presidents then shared words of advice with the newly installed president and executive committee.

Newly elected president Opanin Rosemary Kyei delivered her acceptance speech. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, a closing prayer and refreshments. On 15 June, a thanksgiving Mass was offered for the successful installation, followed by a parish reception for members and invited guests.
